My First Craft Show Experience

About a week ago, I sold at my first ever craft show. It was a great experience and I’m so glad I did it. I didn’t make a profit, but it was fun. I wanted to share some of my observations as a first timer…

First of all, it really wore me out! When I was done, I was exhausted. I think I was more keyed up than I expected to be, but it makes sense. As my booth neighbor said, you’re “on” the whole time. I’m thankful it was a small market and not a long one time-wise. Now I have extra respect for those artists at the big, multiple day shows. It takes some stamina to work those!

Second, I will always bring a comfy chair. I brought my camp chair and it was so much better than sitting on a stool for 5 hours.

Third, I need to have something to display my cards.  I had them spread out flat on the table, but I think it would have been better to have them up somehow.  If I do a craft show again, that will be something to work on.  I should probably improve my prices sign too.

Thank you to Lisa at Nido for dreaming up and organizing the market! Also thank you to my booth neighbors for being so friendly and helpful.

I hope everyone is enjoying this holiday season!  Happy New Year!
